Two kinds of bags are used for olive harvest: Jute bags otherwise called jute sacks and plastic bags, which are grey with 3 red stripes and are called 3-striped.
Jute bags are made of the natural jute plant product, which is produced by the jute plant. These are especially durable sacks which allow the product stored inside them to “breathe” and because of their soft surface they don’t injure their content (olives). Their top is hemmed so that they are easily sewn and reused.
Jute bags are ideal for harvesting and storing products like olives.

Used Jute bags for olive packaging.
Plastic bags are made of polypropylene strips.
Grey bags (also known as beige) with 3 red stripes at their centre are particularly durable and they are meant for more specific jobs. Grey plastic bags allow the product stored inside them to “breathe” and because of their soft surface they don’t injure their content (olives). Their top is hemmed so that they are easily sewn and reused.
Uses of plastic bags
They are mainly used for olive harvest, but for other jobs as well, wherever stronger bags are required.
